00:38:55 <gluxon> Hey.
00:39:04 <gluxon> pa_5124: What do you need? :D
00:45:00 <rip> Hello, I've had trouble setting up Enigmail with PortableApps Thunderbird (3.x & 2.x). I followed the instructions at the PA page for Thunderbird, but the error message I get is gpg.exe not found, even though I have downloaded GnuPG for PortableApps as directed. The problem is that the path to gpg.exe is corrupted to be "F:, ... gpg.exe" as opposed to "F:\ ... gpg.exe". Even if I fix this in the prefs., whenever I r
00:45:01 <rip> estart Thunderbird, I get the same problem. Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong (btw, I used downloaded Enigmail from the official site - I don't think there is any custom PortableApps version of Enigmail, is there?)
00:45:35 <rip> where F: is my PortableApps drive

01:05:26 <gluxon> rip: What's Enigmail?
01:08:00 <rip> Thunderbird addon (enigmail.mozdev.org). The instructions for setting it up are on the Thunderbird page on PortableApps
01:09:11 <gluxon> Okay.
01:09:17 <gluxon> Let me check it out.
01:13:48 <gluxon> Downloading GPG Portable now :D
01:14:34 <gluxon> Where are you installing to?
01:14:43 <gluxon> It should be F:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable
01:16:50 <rip> F:\root\Applications\PA\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable
01:17:14 <rip> do you mean it will only work under "F:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable"
01:17:17 <rip> ?
01:18:31 <gluxon> Well, where did you install thunderbird to originally?

01:22:01 <rip> i orignally installed to F:\root\Applications\PA\PortableApps\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable, but now that I've moved it to just F:\PortableApps\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable , it seems to work... so does this mean PortableApps has problem with long path names?
01:23:21 *** dabossbv has quit (Client Quit)
01:25:25 <gluxon> No.
01:25:29 <gluxon> Just wondering?
01:25:42 <gluxon> What's the point in having it in another PortableApps folder?
01:26:16 <gluxon> Well, you just have to check if there's a GPG folder in ThunderbirdPortable\App.
01:26:31 <gluxon> Should work if there's no bugs in the launcher then.

02:08:37 <pa_1894> Hello, I do believe that Google Chrome is open source, and so its classification as freeware is erroneous
02:09:25 <Ben|Mac> pa_1894 if i remember correctly google chrome is freeware, but chromium, which is what google chrome is based off of, is open source
02:10:38 <pa_1894> Ben|Mac: no, I think you are wrong. that used to be the case, but even then, the only part of chrome that wasn't open source was the part of it that communicates with the google servers for updates and what not
02:11:13 <pa_1894> then they open sourced it: omaha.googlecode.com
02:11:28 <Ben|Mac> well all I know is that john and the other devs have dont their research on that so i trust them :/
02:11:43 <pa_1894> it is now fully open source, i do believe, just that when its built by google to be hosted as chrome, there are some #ifdef flags thrown to the compiler
02:12:19 <pa_1894> umm, there was quite a bit of confusion about that in the beginning, so it wouldn't surprise me if they found the wrong answer
02:14:04 <pa_1894> Ben|Mac: would you like to join me in #chromium?
02:14:22 <pa_1894> Ben|Mac: would you like to join me in #chromium ?

02:15:34 <pa_1894> feel better.
02:15:50 <Ben|Mac> thanx
02:15:56 <pa_1894> but do check later on in #chromium , i'm sure they'll be glad to let you know that its wrong

18:09:02 <TimClark> just saying search and nothing else is neither helpful or welcoming
18:10:09 <TimClark> This was discussed a long time ago in the forums, if you know you can find it by searching it means you searched, which means you could have pointed to a useful answer as well
18:10:51 <TimClark> And yes, I know others do it too, and they look just as bad
18:13:47 <TimClark> Here is an example of how to introduce someone to the search function:

20:03:26 <gluxon> Ah :P
20:03:47 <gluxon> Okay, for one, you know how you can do something like this --> <h1 style="align: center;">
20:03:54 <gluxon> That isn't allowed anymore?
20:04:23 <ptmb> it is allowed, but you should avoid inline styles anyway, they aren't very much future ready

20:05:14 <ptmb> imagine that in the future you want that that <h1> isn't centered anymore, you would have to change EVERY place where you used it like that
20:05:18 <gluxon> And, do you know if html.net is teaching CSS3 or CSS2?
20:05:26 <gluxon> :P
20:05:28 <gluxon> lol.
20:05:40 <ptmb> I don't know, but CSS3 isn't much different from CSS2, it only has a few more properties
20:06:18 <gluxon> Oh. Okay, so I won't bother with that :P
20:06:34 <gluxon> For now.
20:07:09 <gluxon> One more thing. You know the new <video> tag?
20:07:22 <ptmb> yes
20:07:23 <gluxon> Should I start using that for vids, or stick with flash?
20:07:27 <ptmb> (and love it :D )
20:07:31 <gluxon> lol :P
20:07:34 <ptmb> use it, with a flash fallback
20:07:47 <ptmb> you can define fallbacks inside the video tag
