00:14:50 <CruelC> sorry, BZflag has a weird bug on Windows, with Windows constantly claiming "my <something> files" folders.
00:15:17 <CruelC> so it _needs_ to be _wrapped_

00:16:18 <CruelC> is ev1 afk?
00:16:43 <CruelC> I just need to know if there's a PAC of BZflag

00:18:50 <ChrisMorgan> CruelC: search.
00:34:12 <CruelC> PAC site holds no BZflag
00:34:12 <CruelC> saaad
00:34:12 <CruelC> by PACing BZflag, you would not only get another game in your line, but will contribute to BZflag greatly, overcoming notorious "cache files disappeared" issue.
00:34:12 <CruelC> I forgot how to PAC, plus I deleted the compiler.
00:35:07 <CruelC> Hey, since BZF keeps its folder @ "%documents%\my BZflag files", modding NetPanzer or OTTD for template may do the job!

07:31:46 <pa_5899> Hi
07:32:00 <DannyMuniz> hello! :")
07:32:27 <pa_5899> I can't Download firefox4 portable because: "Download Forbidden We cannot send this file to your location. Please visit our our T7 page "
07:33:44 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: are you downloading it directly?
07:34:30 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: yes
07:36:09 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: where is the error message occurring (i.e. at what URL)?
07:36:50 <ChrisMorgan> What country are you trying to download from?
07:37:32 <ChrisMorgan> Iran?
07:37:40 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: Iran
07:37:47 <pa_5899> yes
07:39:59 <ChrisMorgan> The T7 stuff is a blacklist to fit in with some US laws about exporting software in certain categories; unfortunately, as our stuff is distributed from America, and we serve some software which fits in the category (data encryption and a couple of other related things), we can't serve downloads to some countries, of which Iran is one.
07:40:34 <ChrisMorgan> Personally I don't understand the legislation at all. If I were American I might understand it a bit better, but I doubt it - most people seem to be against it. But unfortunately it is a law so we need to abide by it.
07:41:42 <ChrisMorgan> See http://sourceforge.net/blog/clarifying-sourceforgenets-denial-of-site-access-for-certain-persons-in-accordance-with-us-law/ and http://sourceforge.net/blog/us-government-makes-move-toward-software-freedom/ - the second one allows some types, but not enough to allow us to distribute all software to Iran, unfortunately.
07:41:49 <DannyMuniz> ChrisMorgan: would it be posible to get a foring server for hosting some of the stuff?
07:42:40 <ChrisMorgan> DannyMuniz: the costs are too high for it to be an option at the moment. US hosting is cheap; hosting in any other country is not, in comparison.
07:43:02 <DannyMuniz> oh that sucks :"(
07:43:48 <ChrisMorgan> Then also I'm not sure of the precise definitions of the laws; as Rare Ideas, LLC is a US entity it's possible that it still wouldn't be legal without a legal entity in some other country to do it.
07:46:18 <DannyMuniz> i forgot about that, and now that i think of it, it dose not matter if we use a forign server since rare Ideas, LLC is a US company we cant provide them with the downloads
07:46:35 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: so sorry, but we can't help you with it legally.
07:47:18 <DannyMuniz> would it make a diference if he used a proxy to get it?
07:47:41 <ChrisMorgan> DannyMuniz: illegal
07:47:52 <DannyMuniz> ok then never mind
07:51:01 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: Free and Opensource Software is only a solgan!
07:51:14 <ChrisMorgan> What do you mean by that?
07:51:44 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: DannyMuniz : Thanks . i find a mirror :)
07:51:56 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: you should not do that. It is illegal.
07:52:36 <DannyMuniz> pa_5899: if you do that you could get in trobble with the otorities
07:52:47 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: In your country is illegal but in my country not. don't it?
07:53:18 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: it is illegal under US laws under which it is served.
07:53:50 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: I don't live in US.
07:54:17 <ChrisMorgan> The files are served under those laws though.
07:54:43 <ChrisMorgan> I don't like the laws either, but once they are laws, you shouldn't just try to get around them.
07:55:39 <pa_5899> ChrisMorgan: Sorry for my broken english
07:56:24 <pa_5899> Is my download illegal?
07:56:32 <DannyMuniz> yes
07:58:26 <pa_5899> DannyMuniz: Why Mozilla didn't banned iran. it is in US too.
08:01:24 <DannyMuniz> I am not the one in charge of the law, we just obay them
08:07:18 <pa_5899> DannyMuniz: ChrisMorgan : Bravo Notepad++. it is a real free software: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/content/notepad-new-site-notepad-plus-plus-org
08:07:32 <pa_5899> DannyMuniz: ChrisMorgan : Thanks a lot for your help :)
08:09:56 <ChrisMorgan> pa_5899: good, Notepad++ has taken the best action for them; we couldn't do that though - our apps are so popular SourceForge is the only site which can cope with them (and even it only just, at times). It would be very expensive for us (to the tune of $30,000 a month for a decent setup) to host them in the US and phenomenally expensive to host them in another country.
08:10:31 <ChrisMorgan> Bye, I'm off now. Sorry we can't help you properly with it.

20:53:15 <Simeon> hi John.
20:53:47 <Simeon> Did you see my comment about the platform crash bug
20:54:13 <JohnTHaller> Yeah. Think I know how to fix that.
20:54:20 <Simeon> cool.
20:54:36 <JohnTHaller> I monitor it in the bug tracker: http://portableapps.com/development/bugs
20:55:00 <JohnTHaller> Added in fixed http://portableapps.com/development/bugs/fixed and closed bugs http://portableapps.com/development/bugs/closed today, too.
20:55:10 <Simeon> nice
20:55:12 <JohnTHaller> (All linked from the main Development page, of course)
20:55:38 <JohnTHaller> Everything that was [Invalid] or [WontFix] I just switched to a simple [Closed]
20:56:07 <Simeon> as long as its clear from the posts what it was
20:56:26 <JohnTHaller> Yeah, there's always a comment explaining it in there somewhere
20:57:18 <pa_6356> How do I bring Robobform onto the PortableApps Platform?
20:57:58 <JohnTHaller> You'll need to send a support request into them. I'm not sure if their portable version works properly with the current Firefox or with other portable browsers.
20:58:35 <pa_6356> To Roboform?
20:58:44 <OliverK|Away> pa_6356: did this not work for you? http://portableapps.com/support/portable_apps_suite#addingotherapps
21:01:25 *** agdurrette|away is now known as agdurrette
21:04:09 <Simeon> Wow, what a huge agme today!
21:04:25 <JohnTHaller> Yeah. Hedgewars is similar and similarly big
21:04:44 <Simeon> yes.
21:05:10 <Simeon> so I could re-start flightgear ;)
21:05:22 <JohnTHaller> Def. The more games, especially open source, the better
21:05:22 <pa_6356> No
21:07:56 <JohnTHaller> They removed the instructions for making it work from their website. I'd drop them a note.
21:08:02 <JohnTHaller> http://www.roboform.com/support/faq/roboform#faq_portablefirefox
21:09:33 <pa_6356> I'm trying to put it into the PortableApps starter when PortableApps start.
21:10:06 <pa_6356> I have Firefox portable and Google Chrome portable in there.
21:10:31 <JohnTHaller> Hang on. Lemme try it for you. Give me a minute...
21:13:46 <Simeon> @JohnTHaller: Could you check this: http://portableapps.com/node/26761 wrong link on the Kompozer page.
21:15:04 <JohnTHaller> Forgot what a mess Roboform's installer is. Ok, install it to your flash drive using their portable installer but uncheck start automatically on the drive and uncheck rename drive and drive icon.
21:16:06 <JohnTHaller> Once it is installed, close all open browser windows and exit RoboFormUSB form the system tray (right-click Exit)
21:16:37 <JohnTHaller> With me so far, pa_6356?
21:19:49 <pa_6356> yes
21:20:11 <pa_6356> I'm copying it to Notebook
21:20:19 <JohnTHaller> Ok. After it's closed, browse to your X:\PortableApps directory and in there, create a Roboform directory.
21:20:56 <pa_6356> Cool. Tnx!
21:21:07 <JohnTHaller> Then go to the root directory of your drive and select the My Roboform Data and RoboForm directories and the PortableRoboForm.exe file and move them to X:\PortableApps\Roboform.
21:21:21 <pa_6356> ok
21:21:45 *** Thasmo (~thasmo@d86-32-70-59.cust.tele2.at) has joined #portableapps
21:22:13 <JohnTHaller> Then, in the PA.c Menu, hit F5 to refresh your apps. Roboform should now show up. Start up Firefox Portyable and then start Roboform2Go and it should automatically integrate.
21:23:16 <pa_6356> Thank you very much! It was very frustrating.
21:23:49 <JohnTHaller> I know. Their installer has lots of issues (including requiring admin rights for some reason). I'll ping them again about proper PA.c Format. You should drop them a note as a customer, too!
21:23:57 <JohnTHaller> You're welcome. Glad it's working :)
