As an asnwer to this ( http://portableapps.com/node/23419#comment-148617 ), the 2 machines that were running SP2 were reinstalled (so was the 3rd one, but that one didn't have the issue), in preparation for the SP3 upgrade. That was done during my absence, btw... After that, the problem went away, and now is only present in Sandboxie, as I reported earlier.
