Thanks 07:38:51 pa_0148: GIMP. 07:40:08 Thanks but any other one? 07:41:50 Inkscape too, but it's a vectorial image editor. Please. 13:29:37 USB-Dude: Just ask your question. People will help you if they can. 13:44:24 Well my question is why are some of the features I liked the most disappeared. I used to be able to make the text in bold. And now that feature is gone. And I liked when the portableapps logo appeared when I inserted the usb flash drive and later it was replaced with a logo of a flash drive. And then the feature to add your own themes is gone. 13:44:32 And now in those latest beta versions the logo is really weird like 1950 weird or Windows NT or Windows 95 weird, and then platform and menu looks weird. And the feature to have small text is gone. Now it just Large or much more larger. I really liked PortableApps.com Platform and Menu, and I always make a recommendation to use PortableApps.com Platform and Menu. But how can some really good features are now gone. 13:56:15 I don't know why these features have been removed. :( I'm not a PortableApps.com developer, just an user (and yesterday I became the author of the upstream version of a PortableApps.com application). 13:58:49 Because I honestly don't understand why they were removed, there were really good features. 14:31:20 *** emaenb (52e1e218@gateway/web/freenode/ip.82.225.226.24) has joined #portableapps 14:31:40 hi all, 14:31:45 i'm french 14:31:58 i got a question about goimp portable ... 14:32:33 Gimp portable ... 14:33:38 Why can't I install GimpPortable in c:\program files\image\gimp Portable folder ? 14:34:31 If i try, then gimp launcher say me : "cannot be run from inside c:\program files " !!! 14:34:39 Why this limitation ? 14:34:54 you could install it to the desktop and then move the folder to program files 14:35:19 Ahhhh... i'm trying ... 14:35:21 but why use the portable version of gimp. you should install the desktop version instead 14:35:52 *** USB-Dude has quit (Quit: Page closed) 14:36:25 I prefer portable version than install version, : no registry keys, copying folder to usb key if needed, etc... 14:38:58 No, it doesn't works ! 14:41:32 copied to d:\ and launched : works fine... 14:41:39 ... then copied the gimpportable folder to c:\program files then launched it --> said me the same thing : "cannot be run from "c:\ program files" 14:42:41 Some programs detect if they are running from Program Files and save their settings to %APPDATA% or registry in that case. 14:43:00 That's why running PA.c apps from Program Files is unsupported. 14:43:35 However, AFAIK it's usually not explicitly disabled that way. 14:44:43 Hum hum... ok ! I understand ! 14:45:48 that is a new "issue" for gimp portable... 14:45:50 i was using a precedent version of gim portable ( 2.6 i think) and there was not this limitation. 14:47:52 Most likely explanation is that someone found severe issues when running GIMP Portable from Program Files. 14:49:16 Hum ... I think, it should be write somewhere in Pa.com site... instead of "just install it xhere you want !" 14:49:59 I will try to install elsewhere, then ! 14:50:07 Thank you very much ! 14:50:20 You're welcome. :) 14:51:54 Bye ! 14:52:00 *** emaenb has parted #portableapps (None) 15:45:23 *** TPFC-SYSTEM has quit (Quit: TPFC-SYSTEM) 16:49:41 *** Sk1llSh0t has quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer) 16:51:23 *** Sk1llSh0t (~Instantbi@74.124.168.218) has joined #portableapps 17:25:36 *** TPFC-SYSTEM (~opera@cs84248.pp.htv.fi) has joined #portableapps 17:25:36 TPFC-SYSTEM is the author of http://code.google.com/p/project-invincible/ 17:25:58 Good, it's working. :) 18:11:59 *** benedikt93 (~benedikt9@unaffiliated/benedikt93) has joined #portableapps 18:15:07 *** AlleyKat (~Miranda@87.58.88.124) has joined #portableapps 18:54:54 *** benedikt93 has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) 19:02:22 *** benedikt93 (~benedikt9@unaffiliated/benedikt93) has joined #portableapps 19:03:25 *** JohnTHaller (~JohnTHall@cpe-24-193-163-205.nyc.res.rr.com) has joined #portableapps 19:29:11 *** Shnooter (~Shnooter@host86-155-219-44.range86-155.btcentralplus.com) has joined #portableapps 19:35:27 *** benedikt93_ (~benedikt9@p5B0C2843.dip.t-dialin.net) has joined #portableapps 19:35:57 *** benedikt93 has quit (Ping timeout: 255 seconds) 19:49:42 *** benedikt93_ has quit (Quit: Bye ;)) 19:50:20 *** Suiseiseki has quit (Ping timeout: 260 seconds) 20:00:17 *** Venusaur (~desu@wikipedia/Antonio-Lopez) has joined #portableapps 20:01:38 *** Sk1llSh0t has quit (Quit: Instantbird 1.3 -- http://www.instantbird.com) 20:42:06 *** TPFC-SYSTEM has quit (Quit: TPFC-SYSTEM) 22:20:14 *** Shnooter has quit (Quit: Shnooter has kicked MrBlades from #grn-staff (Shnooter)) 22:30:48 *** AluisioASG (~Thunderbi@187.101.136.115) has joined #portableapps 22:30:49 AluisioASG is a PortableApps.com developer and translator, previously known as kAlug. 22:30:49 AluisioASG is a PortableApps.com developer and translator, previously known as kAlug.
