00:43:29 <ChrisMorgan> WinDjView is very small... I /really/ don't like the installer though. Its main installer is over 3MB - but the install size is only about 1.2MB: they include a Russian IE/FF toolbar.
00:43:41 <ChrisMorgan> After UPX it's only about 650KB though
00:43:47 <ChrisMorgan> And that's with Russian as well as English
00:44:32 <ChrisMorgan> The whole size of my portable version I'm ready to upload when I get home is 977KB, 827-871KB installed (WinDjViewRU.dll is 44KB after UPX :-) )
00:45:49 <ChrisMorgan> It's the sort of application that if I wanted a portable CD version of it I'd just bundle it up inside the launcher and extract it to TEMP and just kill the settings afterwards, a one-file thing (with two files stored inside it, WinDjView.exe and WinDjViewRU.dll).
00:46:25 <ChrisMorgan> The real problem is I don't have any real djvu files to test it on :/
00:46:35 <ChrisMorgan> I only did it because it was requested...

06:17:06 <ChrisMorgan> Went wrong as in too broad
06:17:12 <Horusofoz> Maybe send them a note? I have their RSS in Google Reader if you want it.
06:17:22 <Horusofoz> Same with Gantt and SH3D
06:17:32 <ChrisMorgan> Great... now even http://sourceforge.net/projects/datacrow/files is timing out :/

06:18:01 <GizmoBot> ChrisMorgan: Sorry, but I don't know about datacrow
06:18:01 <Horusofoz> Woah. Sounds lke it may be time to change ISP/
06:18:13 <ChrisMorgan> No, SourceForge regularly drops out on everyone.
06:18:37 <ChrisMorgan> We'd be on ADSL2+, but the Blackburn exchange is full, has been for quite a while...
06:18:41 <ChrisMorgan> No way to treat customers :P
06:18:49 <ChrisMorgan> So we're still with OptusNet Cable
06:18:58 <Horusofoz> Ouch
06:19:06 <ChrisMorgan> Not ouch. It's good.
06:19:11 <Horusofoz> Data Crow Page2RSS - http://page2rss.com/page?url=www.datacrow.net/news.html
06:19:36 <ChrisMorgan> Page2RSS hasn't worked properly for me... I had one on ganttproject.biz and it hasn't ever picked anything up.
06:19:52 * ChrisMorgan hates the way DataCrow includes the JRE
06:20:03 <Horusofoz> I am no doubt biased but I don't have the highest opinion of Optus or Telstra net service. Ridiculous data costs
06:20:27 <ChrisMorgan> We're on one of the older Optus plans - shaping, not excess fees.
06:21:07 <Horusofoz> Gantt Project Development Blog RSS - http://feeds2.feedburner.com/GanttprojectDevelopmentBlog
06:21:20 <ChrisMorgan> And since we finally gave up trying to keep down to 2GB + 4GB-during-AM and went up to 7/14, we haven't got anywhere near the limit other than when dad went downloading lots of MS stuff for BizSpark
06:22:15 <Horusofoz> How much $ - I get 50GB a month for $70 including a voip phone - Naked DSL
06:22:31 <ChrisMorgan> Managing a respectable 650KB/sec at the moment... not as fast as when Optus had a SourceForge mirror (not sure why they dropped it... :-( ) but "passable" :P
06:22:40 <Horusofoz> SH3D RSS - http://www.sweethome3d.eu/blog/rss.xml
06:22:43 <ChrisMorgan> Can't remember exactly
06:22:58 <ChrisMorgan> Stop, stop :P I am inundated :P
06:23:13 <Horusofoz> That's all of them :)
06:23:23 <ChrisMorgan> Why do you think I said that :P
06:24:09 <Horusofoz> Have you had any luck with introducitng some of the innovations from your launcher into the official PA one?
06:24:23 <ChrisMorgan> Still waiting for the official one to come
06:25:42 <ChrisMorgan> The official one is based on my work and John's work. Original comments were that the structure was more mine and some of the more interesting things which hadn't occurred to me yet (e.g. service installation/uninstallation) were from John's (he has the advantage of hearing from people that want in :P )
06:25:59 <Horusofoz> FYI - My Tafe lecturer from last semester asked for a copy of GanttProject Portable for her students :) Seems they will be integrating it as I had hoped :)

06:46:47 <InsanePenguin> hey guys
06:47:31 <InsanePenguin> i instaled pa a few days ago and looked at the autorun.inf file and noticed that it is set to opn qckset.exe is this correct?
06:47:48 <InsanePenguin> my av software flagged that program and online says its a virus
06:48:12 <InsanePenguin> which i think it is as it was just found on my other fd w/o pa
06:48:44 <Horusofoz> That is not right
06:49:05 <Horusofoz> It would appear your autorun has been modified by a virus to run itself
06:49:23 <Horusofoz> It should be open=StartPortableApps.exe
06:49:34 <InsanePenguin> yea, it must have happened quick as it was there as soon as i installed ap
06:49:36 <InsanePenguin> pa
06:50:38 <Horusofoz> You can either run your AV over the drive or format it and rerun. Where did you download the menu from?
06:50:53 <InsanePenguin> well heres mine, or the old one, i have sense deleted all the bad entries http://pastebin.com/m6dcd857d
06:51:13 <InsanePenguin> i got it from the site http://portableapps.com/
06:52:23 <Horusofoz> Still not right. Mine reads - http://pastebin.com/m7277c470
06:52:34 <Horusofoz> Do you have any critical data on the drive?
06:53:26 <InsanePenguin> not critical persay, just all my school work
06:54:18 <InsanePenguin> well here is my current inf http://pastebin.com/m364c0316
06:54:53 <InsanePenguin> and one thing that iv noticed it that the menu doesn open when i plug in my FD, i have to click on the icon under computer
06:55:07 <InsanePenguin> think i have my comp set to not do autorun though
06:55:37 <Horusofoz> This still means the virus would be on your pc even if it is activated by your autorun (I think)
06:56:22 <InsanePenguin> oh yea the virus is still on my pc, just looked and there it sites on the fd and a few other places on my hdd i think
06:57:10 <InsanePenguin> i left it there incase it was part of PA, but after it got flagged on another fd, i googled and see that its a virus, well have to fix that
06:57:47 <Horusofoz> Critical may be an overstatement. I suggest you back your school work up then format the drive. Run at least 2 separate AV apps and a specialist Anti-Spyware app to sanatise your computer. Then restore your school work. I use Avast, Malwarebytes and Spybot. Something like this should fix you right up. Also there is CLamWin Portable available from the site.
06:58:38 <InsanePenguin> yea i will, i use avast
06:59:04 <InsanePenguin> i just wish i knew where it originated from
06:59:15 <Horusofoz> Malwarebytes makes a good secondary scanner and Spybot will cover you for anti-spyware.
06:59:33 <Horusofoz> Just so you know No official PA software has Ever been released infected with malware. Don't mean to point fingers but I would guess it was pre-existant or picked up afterward.
07:00:31 <Horusofoz> Oh and I recommend not using the Spybot's Tea Timer module unless a) you got enough resources to cover it and b) are patient enough to deal with real-time registry change monitoring
07:00:55 <InsanePenguin> well my fd has stayed in my comp and it was there after i put PA on it
07:01:06 <InsanePenguin> it was probably just on my hdd waiting for a fd to connect
07:01:52 <Horusofoz> Would appear so. At least you now know how to fix it.
07:02:29 <InsanePenguin> oh ive dealt with too many viruses in my day, my brother dls everything, and norton pops up and he just closes it off
07:02:58 <InsanePenguin> is the clamav good
07:03:01 <Horusofoz> Oh and if using all four AVs doesn't seem to pick up the virus try doing a boot scan with Avast. However I recommend doing this over night as it takes ages
07:03:51 <Horusofoz> Makes for another good secondary scanner though is definitely not yet ready for use as a primary AV on a Windows system.
07:04:27 <Horusofoz> If your interested I rad a while back that the devs of ClamWin were looking into developing real-time protection for ClamWin
07:04:37 <InsanePenguin> how does it work, like is it always on scanning all incoming files to the fd or do you just have to manully start a scan
07:04:50 <Horusofoz> Manual scan
07:05:09 <InsanePenguin> ahright, maybe check it out
07:05:38 <Horusofoz> K good luck. I gotta go. Nice to meet you :)
