19:01:59 <Drive-Dude> Hi I need support
19:02:13 <M4T1A5> hi
19:02:24 <M4T1A5> so what is your problem?
19:03:14 <Drive-Dude> It is a application problem
19:03:27 <M4T1A5> what kind of problem?
19:04:04 <Drive-Dude> I am gonna tell you about it
19:04:15 <M4T1A5> ok
19:12:22 <Drive-Dude> I was at library. I was looking at stuff having having a good time. And I did find app. So I did diownload it. A GPL app. And it did not having a installer. So I did unzip it and transfer to my USB Flash Drive. And it was great. But it create shortcuts on the computer when somebody rightclicks on the trashcan or whatever. And I can not delete them. And they are still there even if I did delete the app.
19:13:54 <M4T1A5> i didn't quite understand that shortcut part

19:15:50 <Drive-Dude> Yeah I know. It sounds stupid.
19:17:25 <Drive-Dude> I mean like this. T.ex when you plug in your flash drive and en screen comes up and ask what do you wante to do. and many softwares and other things
19:18:11 <Drive-Dude> wanna poke a penguin?
19:18:43 <Drive-Dude> http://code.google.com/p/big5sync/
19:19:00 <Drive-Dude> dont try the app. It caused my problem
19:19:20 <gluxon> Drive-Dude: The app isn't portable.
19:19:37 <gluxon> It left it's settings behind and tried to tie itself into the system.
19:20:19 <Drive-Dude> How do I delete it
19:20:30 <Drive-Dude> I already deleted the software
19:20:45 <gluxon> It was on a library computer right?
19:22:27 <gluxon> Usually library computers are restored to default after you log off.
19:22:41 <Drive-Dude> Yes Its
19:22:54 <Drive-Dude> But I wantwe to know for future use

19:39:03 <gluxon> Drive-Dude: You have to check the app docs. Every app is different.
19:39:23 <gluxon> There's no way to find out without analizing the app for a hour or so.
19:40:09 <Gizmokid2005> Now now gluxon, it doesn't usually take an hour, but you have to know what you're looking for. RegShot is one of the best ways to see what needs to be done to portablize an application. As well as talking to a developer (or two or three).
19:40:17 <gluxon> :P
19:40:48 <Gizmokid2005> It only took me an 30 minutes to figure out DamnVid and another hour to ensure the launcher worked right.
19:40:57 <gluxon> From what Drive-Dude was describing, the app attaches it self to random places in the system :/
19:41:15 <Drive-Dude> And I can not find it
19:41:16 <Gizmokid2005> no, it created shortcuts most apps do
19:41:28 <Gizmokid2005> but most library machines are locked down so you can't mess them up.
19:42:31 <Drive-Dude> But I wantw to know. If I do by a mistake at home or if a friend does wrong
19:42:36 <Drive-Dude> wante
19:42:50 <Gizmokid2005> if you have priveleges on the machine you can delete the shortcuts
19:42:57 <Gizmokid2005> most will point to your drive where the app was run from anyways
19:43:09 <Gizmokid2005> but like I said, most library/public PCs are locked down to not allow that to prevent tampering
19:44:04 <Drive-Dude> I am not all the time at the library I am sometimes at home
19:44:21 <Drive-Dude> I have at computer at home to
19:46:20 <Drive-Dude> I dont wante to make the sam mistake
19:46:25 <Drive-Dude> same

21:26:43 <thabubble> okay, because the AssaultCubePortable is outdated and i have updated it with the newest version :)
21:27:31 <thabubble> do you recommend any site?

21:30:19 <thabubble> or python
21:31:03 <thabubble> do i need licenses?
21:32:15 <benedikt93> if the license allows you to redistribute in a modified form, you're fine
21:32:28 <benedikt93> if not, you need to ask the devs
