02:20:51 <Scriptdaemon> ChrisMorgan, I'm (very slowly) working on a worked example of Wormux for the launcher manual. I figured it was probably the easiest regarding language switching.
02:21:04 <ChrisMorgan> Thank-ee :-)
02:21:47 <Scriptdaemon> Want just the language switching stuff, or do you want the whole .ini file worked out? I already mention that it saves a directory in %APPDATA%.
02:22:13 <ChrisMorgan> As complete as possible would be nice. But even just the language stuff would be great.
02:22:51 <Scriptdaemon> Alright, I'll do the complete write-up for it. I'm doing it in an .rst file like your others so you'll just have to do a quick look-through.
02:23:01 <ChrisMorgan> I don't think we ever mention how we found out that "settings are saved in APPDATA" etc. with any of these things... how do you - source, guess, regshot?
02:23:44 <Scriptdaemon> For this I think I just guessed, since I haven't used Regshot since it's been giving me problems.
02:23:54 <Scriptdaemon> I'll mention that then.
02:24:42 <ChrisMorgan> Thanks for your help with it. I should do a complete write up of the history of Data Crow Portable, there are some interesting points to be observed. This morning I wrote up a thing about custom code in installers for updating paths, referencing Data Crow Portable and Iron Portable with some explanation of both.
02:25:29 <Scriptdaemon> Nice. Yeah, then the write-up for Wormux should have tutorials for multiple things then instead of just language switching.
02:25:38 <Scriptdaemon> than*
02:26:50 <Scriptdaemon> For for fun, I might do one for Sauerbraten if you'll take it. It hides the command line window and waits for the splash to finish, as well as not even needing the launcher to wait for it.
02:26:53 <Scriptdaemon> Just*
02:33:01 <ChrisMorgan> Yep, that'd be a good help for the games section.
02:33:17 <ChrisMorgan> Do as many as you want, and I'll take them all* :-)
02:33:52 <ChrisMorgan> * I reserve the right to edit content and I also have the right of veto
02:38:56 <Scriptdaemon> Understood. :)
02:40:01 <Scriptdaemon> A single ` is to create a link, correct? (Just judging based on what you've already done in the other examples.)
02:41:20 <Scriptdaemon> Eh, I can just leave that part for you to fix. =P

15:44:36 <Bicster> Can someone please help me troubleshoot an app-won't-start issue? I've been using Chrome Portable for months and today it won't start. I blew it away and reinstalled and it still won't start. Chrome starts fine if I launch it myself outside the portable framework. I don't get any errors. Is there a log?
15:46:04 <Bicster> all my other portable apps start and run just fine
15:46:26 <Bicster> I tried rebooting, cleaning the registry, sacrificing livestock ...
15:57:14 <Gizmokid2005> Bicster: if you've completely blown away the folder and reinstalled...i can't say there's much I can think of that would be an issue..
15:57:30 <Gizmokid2005> My best suggestion is to post in the forums, one of the app's devs might have some ideas
15:57:33 <Bicster> that's why I'm wondering if there is anything I can troubleshoot
15:57:59 <Gizmokid2005> I can't think of anything
15:58:09 <Gizmokid2005> if it launches without errors normally, it should just run then
15:58:13 <Bicster> I guess I can try to load it from a debugger
15:58:20 <Gizmokid2005> especially if the other apps launch fine
15:58:31 <Bicster> it's almost like it expired
15:58:39 <Bicster> or else the gestapo's security agent blocks it
15:59:56 <Bicster> I guess I can build the launcher from source?
16:00:02 <Bicster> afk
16:01:39 <Gizmokid2005> you can Bicster
16:01:55 <Gizmokid2005> and it's possible that security software would block it.

17:21:34 <Bicster> yeah
17:21:35 <Gizmokid2005> can you disable the security software?
17:21:55 <Bicster> I managed to get an admin command prompt and even with that, taskkill was unable to terminate it
17:22:25 <Bicster> sometimes I hate working here. This is one of those times

17:54:28 <Gizmokid2005> (assuming it's still done like that)
