04:01:19 <DannyMuniz> ok im back
04:04:08 <DannyMuniz> kAlug: I used pdfsamPortable as an example to improve this one
04:05:13 <kAlug> DannyMuniz: I've found a couple errors. To start: https://pzt.me/4bfv
04:06:21 <kAlug> Also remainings of the Installer in Other\Source and some mistakes in FRDPortable.ini.
04:06:40 <DannyMuniz> ok
04:07:51 <DannyMuniz> ah you used PA.cDTK i see, i did not use that i forget about it all the time
04:07:58 <DannyMuniz> ok ill fix that
04:11:54 <kAlug> DannyMuniz: Hold on. I'm making some changes on it.
04:11:55 <DannyMuniz> ok they are fixed! ")
04:11:59 <DannyMuniz> ok
04:13:13 <kAlug> There's also a new situation: FRD stores the language and the country separately. PAL is not designed to handle this.
04:13:37 <DannyMuniz> hmm... so how do we deal with that?
04:17:00 <kAlug> By now, using custom code.
04:18:34 <DannyMuniz> that sucks man i have no idea where to start on that...

05:08:37 <kAlug> DannyMuniz: it seems to store downloads in \Documents\Downloads, but that doesn't exist.
05:08:57 <kAlug> IIRC uTorrent uses %PAL:DataDir%\downloads
05:10:11 <DannyMuniz> I maid it to put it there to make a bit faster to get to but when ever you start the program for the first time you have to a set a default folder
05:11:45 <kAlug> Weird... it didn't asked me.
05:12:29 <DannyMuniz> is the default forder field blank when you add a new link?
05:13:08 <DannyMuniz> just click add link and you will see the field of the download folder directory
05:13:11 <kAlug> Yep.
05:13:59 <DannyMuniz> ok then now you can set your oun directory, but because i made it have a pre derectory it ask to make the folder
05:15:30 <DannyMuniz> it could be left blank but, but if not then is up to the user if they want to create the folder in the Documents directory or not
05:16:18 <DannyMuniz> that is also why i added pal last drive command
05:20:28 <DannyMuniz> plus it is easy to get to the download folder in the documents section that it is in PortableApps/FRDPortable/Datat/Data. Just click on Documents in the Platform and one more dobble click and you are in
05:27:09 <kAlug> DannyMuniz: another thing is that it stores paths normally, not in Java-style.
05:27:39 <kAlug> I'm going to upload my version... it'll take ~15mins.
05:27:59 <DannyMuniz> damn that is long but ill wait for it
05:28:01 <DannyMuniz> XD
05:28:27 <DannyMuniz> ill be here watchin anime
05:38:39 <kAlug> 10 mins... I'm going to watch a bit of "Learn advanced math with Charlie Eppes"... aka Numb3rs.

10:36:53 <DannyMuniz> how can i help you?
10:38:56 <Umino> i want to make a game portable using the portableapps launcher
10:39:28 <DannyMuniz> ok first is the game Opensource or freeware?
10:39:52 <Umino> neither of them ... and i don't plan to release it publicly ...
10:39:59 <DannyMuniz> ok
10:40:32 <Umino> it's just for me to stop it from saving files in directories i don't want it to ...
10:41:28 <DannyMuniz> ok then you would have to use directory move
10:41:54 <Umino> it bothers me that games spread their files (save file for example) all over windows directories like C:\users\.....
10:42:52 <Umino> i have all my programms and stuff on a seperate partition that ... in case windows breaks down i can simply format the C: partition and reinstall
10:43:07 <DannyMuniz> ok
10:43:19 <Umino> so i thought it might be a good idea to use that launcher :-)
10:43:29 <Umino> directory move ...

10:48:05 <Umino> yes
10:48:43 <DannyMuniz> if it is in the user profile the you will need something like this [DirectoriesMove]
10:48:43 <DannyMuniz> filename=%UserProfile%\filename
10:49:05 <DannyMuniz> hey ChrisMorgan!
10:49:14 <ChrisMorgan> There, online again. Came to India last Friday and discovered when we got here that the tree which had been gradually falling over more and leaning against the ADSL line (with the council doing nothing about it although we told them about nine months ago) blew over in a storm a couple of weeks ago, taking the line with it.
10:49:55 <DannyMuniz> Oh God we have spammers already
10:50:11 <Umino> so .. first haev to tell i tell the launcher the name of the file ...
10:50:57 <Umino> oops ... misstyped it ...
10:51:03 <DannyMuniz> np
10:51:50 <Umino> first ... tell the launcher the name and location of the file ... for example "user\public\Documents\mygame.sav"
10:53:09 <Umino> and then where to save it instead ... like "MyGamePortable\data\mygame.sav"

10:58:23 <Umino> ok .. i'm on win7 and there are 3 folders in /user/ ... public, default and my own username
10:59:01 <Umino> public is the one that all users of this machine would have access to
10:59:03 <ChrisMorgan> Yep, so it is the all users documents that you need.
10:59:42 <ChrisMorgan> Umino: there's no variable for that directory, so you'll need a bit of custom code: http://portableapps.com/node/28235#comment-178508
11:00:06 <Umino> i think so ... default is just a template where new user profiles are created from if i got that right
11:00:20 <ChrisMorgan> Then have [FilesMove]:mygame.sav=%ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS%
11:02:49 <Umino> ok ... should i paste this code on the bottom to the launcher.ini file?
11:03:48 <ChrisMorgan> Which? The INI code or the Custom.nsh code?
11:03:52 <Umino> an ... no ... its in App\AppInfo\Launcher\Custom.nsh
11:05:00 <Umino> simply copy & paste or do i need to modify the code ?
11:06:57 <ChrisMorgan> That code as it stands will make the ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS environment variable available which is what you want
11:08:31 <Umino> ok ... and then just directoriesmove %ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS%=/Data/
11:09:35 <Umino> or Data=%ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS%
11:09:38 <Umino> ??
11:10:16 <ChrisMorgan> No, FilesMove, as I said.
11:11:04 <ChrisMorgan> You can't use DirectoriesMove for part of a directory. You've got to use [FilesMove].
11:12:04 <Umino> [FilesMove] data\mygame.sav=%ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS%\mygame.sav ??
11:12:43 <ChrisMorgan> NO. What I said. Read what I said.
11:15:34 <Umino> oh ... sorry ... [FilesMove]:mygame.sav=%ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS% - it will go into the data folder by itself i guess ...
11:20:48 <Umino> ok ... now the launcher.ini looks like this: [Launch] ProgramExecutable=MyGame\bin\game.exe [FilesMove] mygame.sav=%ALLUSERSDOCUMENTS%
11:21:44 <Umino> is that ok ?
11:21:45 <ChrisMorgan> That will be enough to get it working if it's only that one file which you need to take care of.
11:22:50 <Umino> i let the game run in a sandbox to track down wich files and registry keys are altered / accessed
11:25:18 <Umino> and that was the only file outside of its game folder that came up in the log files

18:42:59 <jason404> would making a launch and exit launcher which chooses between x86 and x64 .exex, depending on OS, be quite easy to make, or should I leave it till later, when I am more experienced with making launchers?
18:43:23 <jason404> I cannot find any information on this
18:44:07 <sar3th> if PAL supports it, it can probably be done relatively easily

18:44:50 <TPFC-SYSTEM> You can refer to 7-Zip Portable source code. It has that feature.
18:45:20 <jason404> TPFC-SYSTEM: okay thanks. would source code in this case just be the .ini text files?
18:45:31 <kAlug> jason404: http://portableapps.chrismorgan.info/launcher/manual/topics/64-bit/#bit and http://portableapps.chrismorgan.info/launcher/manual/ref/launcher.ini/launch/#std:ini-key-[Launch]:ProgramExecutable64
18:46:00 <TPFC-SYSTEM> jason404: I think so, but I'm not sure.
18:46:22 <jason404> kAlug, TPFC-SYSTEM: thanks
