14:14:19 <pa_3620> Hi everyone
14:15:03 <pa_3620> I would like to know if any of you have been having a NSIS error within Windows 7
14:21:35 <pa_3620> Since I started using Windows 7 every now and then the app cannot launch anymore giving me a NSIS error, even if I reinstall on the same folder the app will not launch, this occurs with every app fron Eraser to Thunderbird. Anyone knows how to fix this?
14:22:52 <agdurrette> which apps
14:23:34 <pa_3620> Eraser, Firefox and Thunderbird which I constantly use.
14:24:41 <pa_3620> Never had this problems within Vista or XP
14:27:49 <pa_3620> By the Way, I can install them, this occurs on launching

17:12:19 <pa_4513> hey ChrisMorgan , your good with Python right?
17:12:24 *** pa_4513 is now known as Pyromaniac
17:12:27 <ChrisMorgan> Yeppity.
17:12:36 <Pyromaniac> What editor do you use?
17:12:42 <Pyromaniac> i mean IDE
17:12:54 <pa_3620> Not, I even tested the Default Administrator Account which is always disabled by default.
17:13:13 <ChrisMorgan> ide? IDE? IDE!?
17:13:26 <ChrisMorgan> I use vim. Vim vim vim vim vim! :-)
17:13:50 <ChrisMorgan> Vim for breakfast, Vim for lunch, Vim for everything. Vim!
17:14:10 <Pyromaniac> vim? what vim?
17:14:16 <Pyromaniac> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vim_%28text_editor%29
17:14:41 <Pyromaniac> I was hoping you knew one for Windows that was good
17:14:44 <ChrisMorgan> Ab-so-lutely.
17:14:53 <ChrisMorgan> Vim comes for Windows too.
17:15:10 <ChrisMorgan> Dat's why I made gVim Portable.
17:16:05 <Pyromaniac> I'm learning Python, and I wanted a good IDE. I googled it, and I found Aptana Studio which absolutely destroyed my computer, freezing it every few seconds. So I used eclipse with the Pydev thingy
17:16:25 <Pyromaniac> But it's not much better.
17:16:48 <ChrisMorgan> But it takes a long time before you get *really* efficient with Vim. And then you look with pity at those poor people using Notepad... Notepad++... Eclipse... Netbeans... Aptana Studio... emacs...
17:17:28 <Pyromaniac> What do you mean by "efficient"?
17:17:56 <ChrisMorgan> Go watch someone who's used Vim for ten years. You'll understand in half a minute.
17:20:11 <ChrisMorgan> I mean that you can just work with *everything* so much faster. You may not have some of the fancy features of some of the IDEs (or you may, for many of them), but your productivity in a text editor will regularly be an order of magnitude greater than people using these other fancy tools.
17:21:45 <ChrisMorgan> Vim: steep learning curve (very steep to do it thoroughly), but it pays off with a vengeance after a year or two. And you'll still be learning about features of Vim you didn't know about twenty years later...
17:22:03 <ChrisMorgan> I grew up with Vim because Dad used it.
17:22:22 <Pyromaniac> ah
17:22:29 <Pyromaniac> I'm watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YTkxUNwmg
17:22:39 <Pyromaniac> hjkl
17:22:47 <Pyromaniac> humpf
17:24:16 <Pyromaniac> Thanks
17:25:16 <Pyromaniac> I've been waiting 2 weeks to ask you that. Never saw you till now on IRC, ChrisMorgan :P
17:25:18 <ChrisMorgan> You can use the arrow keys too, but you won't regret going with hjkl after a while. I used to use the arrow keys mainly but now I use hjkl almost exclusively (only for special circumstances do I use the arrow keys). Things like Gmail and Twitter use j and k for down and up as well. (Very occasionally I even try to use hjkl in other programs by mistake...)
17:27:03 <Pyromaniac> I don't think they'll help me too much at first, though, because I still don't type the standard way, and my speed hasn't gotten much better than 50 wpm
17:28:07 <Pyromaniac> Anyway, I gotta go now, adios maestro O_O)/
17:28:24 <Pyromaniac> hey, my underscore is gone o_O
