04:48:01 <Chesteta> hello, I am having an issue with google chrome portable, basically, the 'AdditionalParameters=" field in the GoogleChromePortable.ini file is not working properly. I tested this by typing chrome://version in my browser bar, which shows the enabled command line options. I also tested on a 'non portable' install of chrome to make sure the command line options I am using are actually valid (which they are)
04:50:12 <Chesteta> the parameter I am trying to use is "--dns-server=8.8.8.8" [without the quotes], this enables me to bypass the windows dns settings and specify the dns server I want chrome to use
04:51:07 <Chesteta> I tried to add spaces before and after the command also with no luck, so I am not sure what is wrong with it: any help would be greatly appreciated

19:11:56 <JohnTHaller> hola
19:17:23 <kAlug> Have you saw the NSISu update?
19:17:52 <JohnTHaller> yeah. haven't gotten round to it yet
19:18:05 <JohnTHaller> your language patch still applies, yes?
19:19:16 <kAlug> Yep. No additional strings.
19:20:10 <JohnTHaller> Cool. WIll get round to it today or tomorrow. Doing a test upgrade of a backup of the site to Drupal 7 today. I fit goes well, we could go live with it this weekend.
19:21:23 <kAlug> I've sent you an updated version of one file in that archive. You got it?
19:22:05 <JohnTHaller> the PortugueseBR.nlf. You linked it in IRC I think. I have it sitting on my desktop

19:55:31 <kAlug> JohnTHaller: can the Google Chrome Portable's installer be tweaked to get the download URL from the PA.c website?
19:56:04 <JohnTHaller> why?
19:57:59 <kAlug> Hmm... nevermind. For a second I thought that it would make things easier to you. BTW, today is Chrome's Dev Channel Update day.
20:11:59 <kAlug> AppInfo.ini\[Dependencies]:UsesJava=true means that the app *can* use Java or that it's required by the app?
20:13:12 <JohnTHaller> UsesJava means it's required
20:13:33 <JohnTHaller> The launcher has options it uses: http://portableapps.com/manuals/PortableApps.comLauncher/ref/launcher.ini/activate/#std:ini-key-[Activate]:Java
20:13:50 <JohnTHaller> UsesJava is a trigger for the platform to prompt to download it.
20:18:00 <kAlug> OK. I'm working on .NET version detection. I think I can use [
20:18:13 <kAlug> UsesDotNetVersion.

20:33:34 <Chesteta> hey (i posted this earlier with no response)
20:33:53 <Chesteta> I am having an issue with google chrome portable, basically, the 'AdditionalParameters=" field in the GoogleChromePortable.ini file is not working properly. I tested this by typing chrome://version in my browser bar, which shows the enabled command line options. I also tested on a 'non portable' install of chrome to make sure the command line options I am using are actually valid (which they are)
20:35:24 <Chesteta> JohnTHaller would you have any suggestions?
21:04:18 <JohnTHaller> I do know that it works from previous testing. Are you sure your GoogleChromePortable.ini is in the same directory as GoogleChromePortable.exe?
21:04:24 *** kAlug (~kalug@201-0-67-30.dsl.telesp.net.br) has joined #portableapps
21:06:25 <Chesteta> The ini is not in the same directory as the exe, it is in \Other\Source\
21:07:09 <JohnTHaller> It has to be moved. That's just an example.
21:07:19 <Chesteta> [do I need to move the ini if I want it to be used? I never saw that in the help file]
21:07:36 <Chesteta> ahh gotcha; thank you for your help, I will try that and see if it works
21:07:51 <JohnTHaller> Hence the note at the top: This file contains the Google Chrome Portable default settings. You can copy this file to GoogleChromePortable\ and change settings in it. Any settings missing from that file will have their defaults (listed here) used.
21:08:39 <Chesteta> :) I just ctrl+f'd to find what I needed so I never noticed the message
21:08:45 <Chesteta> sorry about that
21:08:50 <JohnTHaller> No worries. Common mistakwe
21:09:22 <Chesteta> thank you for all your work with google chrome portable btw, I really appreciate the program
21:09:40 <JohnTHaller> You're welcome. We'll be rolling out some cool new features to it soon, too
21:10:30 <Chesteta> nice :D I wish I could install it on my network drive at school (possibly a bit faster than a usb stick) but I dont think that is possible...
21:11:06 <JohnTHaller> All our apps work on mapped drive letter network drives. Last I checked, Chrome specifically figures out when on a network drive and messes itself up, though
21:11:13 <Chesteta> it works! btw (not that there was much question whetehr it would)
21:11:36 <Chesteta> right, I looked into that a few months ago (the network drive thing)
21:11:57 <Chesteta> anyways, thanks again for all your help and work on the apps, looking forward to the new improvements!
21:12:02 <JohnTHaller> sure thing

21:13:14 <kAlug> JohnTHaller: Do you still want PAL to use %PAL:... for language environment variables?
21:13:45 <JohnTHaller> Yes. It shouldn't be messing with the ones the platform sets.
21:14:32 <kAlug> OK. It's going to be a huge change...
21:15:03 <JohnTHaller> Doesn't it screw up one app called from another the way they do it now?
21:15:23 <JohnTHaller> I said from the beginning that the platform variables shouldn't be messed with.
21:17:31 <kAlug> Fixed in PAL 2.1.1.
21:17:59 <JohnTHaller> Yes and no. I thought it was a hacky fix that doesn't properly pass the variables untouched through
21:40:34 <kAlug> Why are some language variables called PortableApps.comLanguage* and others PortableApps.comLocale*
21:40:35 <kAlug> ?
21:40:46 <JohnTHaller> Based on their names within Windows.
21:41:19 <JohnTHaller> Language Codes: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms533052.aspx
21:41:33 <JohnTHaller> Locale IDs: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb964664.aspx
21:41:36 <JohnTHaller> etc
21:47:01 <kAlug> I see. But what about LocaleCode2 and LocaleCode3? These seems to be ISO 639 *languages*.
21:47:59 <kAlug> And LocaleWinName is only used in NSIS.
21:49:05 <JohnTHaller> Eh, it's a mix and match. Doesn't matter
