After problems with Portable Apps 1.6 I installed Portable Apps 4.2, and it could not show the PortableApps platform - said an image was imssing, and it was unusable. The problem with 1.6 was the spellchecker which started underlining everything in OpenOfficePortable. I switched it off, and it did not work in Thunderbird, so this looks like a Platform problem.
