03:34:12 <JohnTHaller> Still recovering from the 2nd surgery. Another followup appt tomorrow. Then more PT starting next week. Been working on the platform, drupal upgrade, and some tooling upgrades in parallel. Plus a new drive.
03:34:49 <JohnTHaller> And, to make it interesting, our server started having hardware issues costing us 2 hrs in downtime on a weekday. So I'm 1/2 way through the process of speccing out a server transition at Rackspace now, too.

03:36:40 <JohnTHaller> Debating between a fresh dedicated box with SSDs and Rackspace's dedicated managed cloud infrastructure. The latter will be a bit less expensive and easier to grow in. Both will have better performance than our old box we're running on now.

03:38:12 <JohnTHaller> Not really. We have a managed dedicated box now. I don't have to do much except manage Drupal and such. The cloud will be about the same. Rackspace handles the underlying hardware plus RHEL, Apache, mySQL, PHP, etc.

03:50:15 <JohnTHaller> Yeah. Twas an older set of drives I replaced that didn't need it. If you image a drive with a Windows install without the drivers that needs them, Windows freaks out and has permissions issues on all sorts of files. The only proper solution is to go back to the old drive, install the drivers you don't need, then image it over to the new drive. Hurray?
