14:24:07 <pa_5257> exited portable apps and received < External exception C0000006. > error message, couldn't close needed to close with task manager
14:24:09 <pa_9627> hi there, i want ask some about missing update of sql data browser. its not relly urgent, but nagging me.
14:25:09 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: the same question applies still. What app are you talking about? That's not an official app as far as I can see in our library.
14:25:28 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: by chance did the drive that you were running the platform from get unplugged or disconnected before you closed it?
14:25:36 <pa_5257> ?
14:26:07 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: that's a common cause for an error like that with the application. If the location that the application is running from is no longer available, the platform doesn't usually handle that very gracefully.
14:26:26 <Gizmokid2005> for instance, if you were running it from a flash drive and unplugged it before closing the platform, this would happen when you did try to close it.
14:26:53 <pa_5257> the exception error was when I tried to close portable apps when I clicked on the X bottom right corner
14:27:11 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: I understand that. Please reread what I said.
14:27:17 <pa_9627> hallo gizmkid. thanks. how can i inform platformmanger of portable apps to correct this issue?
14:27:30 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: you also, still haven't answered my question.
14:27:48 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: what application from this listing are you talking about? http://portableapps.com/apps
14:28:25 <pa_5257> it is on an external usb3 drive and as far as I noticed the drive was still connected as I usually do not connect the drive
14:28:57 <pa_9627> the apps name is sqllite data browser and its download link for update is https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser/releases
14:29:12 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: Hmm. Is this the first time that has happened?
14:29:14 <pa_5257> just for your info, maybe the software could determine if the drive was no longer available and inidcate so instead of an exception error???? thanks
14:29:18 <pa_5257> yes
14:29:20 <pa_5257> first time
14:29:34 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: so you're talking about this application? http://portableapps.com/apps/development/sqlite_database_browser_portable
14:29:35 <pa_9627> but this link is missing. i want only inform the portable apps platform to edit the bunch of colle tion
14:29:36 <pa_5257> I have been using this platform for years and love it
14:30:12 <pa_9627> yes i love the plöatform too, no problem, but today i want only help to correct an lost lonk insiode
14:30:31 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: I wouldn't fret too much if it's the first time. If it happens again or more consistently I would suggest collecting the steps for reproduction and posting in our forums here: http://portableapps.com/forums/general/general_discussion
14:30:33 <pa_5257> no, I could send a picture of teh error but do not know how, the actual portable apps app
14:30:47 <pa_5257> the start menu with the program options
14:31:22 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: it looks like it is the DB Browser team that actually updates that portable app. You'll want to reach out to them directly to get it updated on our website.
14:31:55 <pa_9627> yes. connect them directly i wopuld do so likeely...
14:31:58 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: it happens from time to time. If this is the first time, don't worry about it. If it gets persistent though, I would suggest checking that drive for errors and reinstalling the platform which should clear any issues.
14:32:26 <pa_5257> need to run but I am running 12.0.5, it os a new 4TB drive WD
14:32:34 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: if you look here: https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser/releases/tag/v3.4.0 You can see that they released this package themselves, they'll need to update it for their newer releases.

14:33:00 <Gizmokid2005> pa_5257: new drives, sadly, aren't without issues always. If the errors continue, check the drive for errors and just reinstall the platform version you're using.
14:33:20 <pa_9627> hmm. reinstalling didnt solve. the better way is to let the developer team rearrange the update function inside. how to connetc to sql lite dev team, did you jknow?
14:34:29 <Gizmokid2005> pa_9627: I never suggested reinstalling for your issue, it was for the other person requesting help. Your best chance of contacting them is by opening an issue on their github repository.
