09:46:31 <pa_1517> Hello I am new to this and have a question
09:47:31 <pa_1517> I put it on DROPBOX but I want to move it to a computer with no internet access - do I just move the entire folder from DropBox to a USB stick or will I break it by doing that - I am assuming all my preferences etc are inside the folder
09:48:13 <pa_1517> I noticed it said that AUDACITY for example could not be moved to the USB with all its properties and this worried me so I aborted
09:48:18 <pa_1517> thanks
09:48:34 <pa_1517> help
09:48:34 <GizmoBot> pa_1517: Welcome to the PortableApps.com official chatroom. Ask your question and someone should be able to help you shortly. If you still don't get an answer, try posting on the forums: http://portableapps.com/forums
12:02:32 <Gizmokid2005> pa_1517: the apps should move between folders without issues.
12:02:43 <Gizmokid2005> You should be able to copy the whole app's folder without problems.
12:02:55 <Gizmokid2005> If you do have any problems with specific apps though, I would suggest looking on the forums.

15:20:31 <pa_4885> hi! I'm having problems with the updater!
15:22:14 <pa_4885> Is there anyone on here?
15:23:02 <pa_4885> BeVegan
15:23:19 <pa_4885> GeekShadow
15:24:04 <Gizmokid2005> pa_4885: what's the issue?
15:24:12 <Gizmokid2005> Nobody can help if you just say "it's broken" :)
15:24:13 <pa_4885> Hey!
15:24:26 <pa_4885> You have to let me know you're here
15:24:37 <pa_4885> It looked like I was the only one on here!
15:24:41 <pa_4885> Anyway...
15:25:25 <pa_4885> When I use the updater I noticed that when a download (or app update) isn't working it requires user action which holds up the all the downloads
15:25:57 <pa_4885> It would be very useful if the updater just moved on to the next update automatically and make the updating process less of a pain
15:26:21 <Gizmokid2005> pa_4885: you'd have to be more specific, likely with steps to reproduce. I've had plenty of updates fail for me regularly. Typically it's publisher released apps that are using the wrong link. The updater pulls a 404 and moves on.
15:26:30 <Gizmokid2005> I've never had a "bad download" stop the updater from running.
15:27:36 <pa_4885> When you run PortableApps you get a PortableApps.com Updater popup, right?
15:27:47 <Gizmokid2005> pa_4885: I know what you're talking about.
15:28:04 <pa_4885> The downloads sometime take forever
15:28:15 <Gizmokid2005> The updater has never actually "stopped" updating on a failure. The only times I've needed to interact is when an app requires a license reacceptance.
15:28:59 <pa_4885> and it doesn't make sense for me to stand right in front of the computer waiting for the downloads to finish
15:29:33 <Gizmokid2005> pa_4885: you're going to have to have some specific cases for that to be looked into. It doesn't stop updating on download failures.
15:29:34 <pa_4885> But when a download isn't working the process doesn't continue until you click on OK on the error message
15:29:45 <pa_4885> Sometimes you have to update dozens of apps at a time
15:30:09 <Gizmokid2005> Are you running the latest version of the platform?
15:30:16 <pa_4885> Yes!
15:30:48 <pa_4885> It gives an error msg and you have to click OK, otherwise it won't move on. It's very simple!
15:30:52 <Gizmokid2005> I would suggest documenting the next time it happens so it can be investigated.
15:31:04 <pa_4885> How do I document this?
15:31:17 <Gizmokid2005> Make notes of what app, when, and the error message?
15:31:19 <Gizmokid2005> Then post it in the forums.
15:31:30 <pa_4885> All the apps
15:32:00 <pa_4885> 12.0.5
15:33:03 <pa_4885> Downloading 1 of 1 - Connecting...
15:33:10 <pa_4885> (Nothing happens)
15:33:40 <pa_4885> PortableApps.com Platform (err msg title)
15:34:20 <pa_4885> Download error: Transfer error on file path_to_file_here
15:34:23 <pa_4885> That's it
15:34:45 <pa_4885> Then you have to click OK or that thing won't do anything
15:43:57 <pa_4885> Hi, is anybody available to help?
