15:04:58 <pa_1899> Hello. I have a question about Pidgin Portable if I may.
15:21:43 <Gizmokid2005> pa_1899: ask away.
15:23:48 <pa_1899> On the Pidgin Portable support page it says: "Upgrading Pidgin Portable To upgrade to a newer version of Pidgin Portable, just install a new version over your current installation. All your settings will be preserved." The Pidgin site does not have a portable version available to upgrade to. Do you know where I can get an updated portabe version?
15:24:18 <Gizmokid2005> pa_1899: ...From the site you just read that on?
15:24:31 <Gizmokid2005> You literally download it from PortableApps.com
15:24:43 <Gizmokid2005> https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pidgin_portable
15:28:21 <pa_1899> I did that. The available version is 2.12.0. You see, what I am ultimatly trying to do is get Spellcheck for it. On the same page it says "Adding Spell Check Support With Pidgin Portable 2.7 and later, you can download an Apache OpenOffice dictionary." I am trying to upgrade so I can use spellcheck.
15:40:33 <Gizmokid2005> Yes, that version, 2.12 is the latest version that can use the spell check support.
15:41:00 <Gizmokid2005> Apache OpenOffice Dictionaries (english) can be found here: https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice
15:41:17 <pa_1899> So there is no version 2.7?
15:41:41 <Gizmokid2005> There is, but it's old and should no longer be used. 2.12 is *newer* than 2.7, which satisfies the requirements for spell check.
15:41:48 <Gizmokid2005> You need 2.7 or NEWER to use it. And 2.12 is NEWER.
15:42:54 <pa_1899> Oh good grief! When I was looking at the .12 I was thinking 1.2. Sorry to bother you.

19:56:11 <chas_> In Seamonkey email, the window gripie is off. How to turn it on? V2.40
19:57:01 <Gizmokid2005> chas_: what thing are you talking about specifically?
20:01:40 <chas_> At the bottom of the email listing, there is a 'gripie' that allows you to raise and lower the size of the window. Normally this feature is there. But now it's not. I read in some release note, which I can no longer find, about a preference that can be set to turn this feature on or off. It is now off, I need it on.
20:11:23 <Gizmokid2005> chas_: you're better of asking the devs/their support forums.
20:11:33 <Gizmokid2005> That's going to be related to the core app rather than just the portable-version.
20:14:36 <chas_> Thank you. Bye.
